What is Draw No Bet? Meaning and example

Draw No Bet is a bet on one team to win, with the stake fully refunded if the match ends in a draw instead of counting as a loss. It behaves like a Match Winner bet on that team with the draw removed as a possible losing outcome, which is why it pays lower odds than backing that team outright.

Example: Draw No Bet against backing the team to win

Say a team is 2.10 to win the match and 1.55 Draw No Bet, and you stake 100 kr.

If the team wins, the win bet pays 210 kr (110 kr profit) and Draw No Bet pays 155 kr (55 kr profit). If the match is drawn, the win bet loses 100 kr and Draw No Bet gives your 100 kr back. If the team loses, both bets lose 100 kr.

The lower odds are the price of the refund. Whether that price is worth paying depends on how likely a draw is: Draw No Bet's fair odds are one minus the chance of a draw, divided by the chance that the team wins. Sharp Bets works that fair price out from Pinnacle's odds with the margin removed, and only flags a bookmaker's Draw No Bet price when it is above it.

Why this matters for value betting

Like Double Chance, Draw No Bet can be derived directly from the Match Winner price, making it easy to spot when a soft book's price has drifted from fair value. It's particularly useful around cup fixtures and knockout matches, where the draw probability, and therefore the whole market, can shift sharply on team-news changes.

Common questions

Is Draw No Bet a good bet?

Only when its price is above its fair value, like any bet. The refund isn't free: it is paid for with lower odds. It suits matches where you rate a team but a draw is a real risk, and it swings less than backing the team outright.

What is the difference between Draw No Bet and Double Chance?

Draw No Bet gives your stake back on a draw; Double Chance counts a draw as a win (for example home or draw). Double Chance wins more often but pays lower odds, while Draw No Bet only pays out when your team wins.

What happens to Draw No Bet in an accumulator if the match is drawn?

That leg is usually treated as void: its odds count as 1.00 and the rest of the accumulator stands. Check your bookmaker's rules.
